Called for a greater cause

Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.  And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven…(Matthew 16:17-19).   

Jesus’ mission was a redemptive mission.  He came to restore the broken relationship, caused by sin, between mankind and God.  Jesus’ mission included training and equipping the disciples to continue the work.  Although, the disciples thought Jesus’ mission was to rise up an earthly kingdom, Jesus plan was to bring the Kingdom of God on earth.  The mission was to claim the lost and lead them to eternal salvation.  From the beginning of Jesus’ mission, He called disciples to follow Him and gave them the authority to continue the mission, to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. 

Although God had revealed to Peter Jesus was the Christ, it’s safe to say he was still unaware of his calling. Peter was called to a greater cause, probably bigger than he could have ever thought.  He would be a foundation part in the beginning of the church. 

God calls us for a greater cause too.  Honestly, we usually have limited vision to the initial calling God has for us.  It’s to continue His redemptive mission and bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to lost, hurting, and dark world.  The Good News of Jesus Christ; the message of eternal salvation, hope, healing, love, restoration, and redemption through Jesus’ death and resurrection on the cross.   

Father, by Your Holy Spirit You reveal Yourself to us.  You have called us to a greater cause than we could ever understand.  May Your kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven.  In Jesus Name, Amen. 

Everything begins to change

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”  Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.  You are my witnesses of these things (Luke 24:44-48). 

The disciples knew what was written about Jesus, they spent time with Him, and He repeatedly told them what was to come.  Ironically enough, they walked with Jesus for three years and still weren’t getting it.  Everything they had known of Him, and about Him on a cognitive level (in their mental thinking) suddenly was all challenged that weekend.  After Jesus’s resurrection everything changed.  Now they saw it, they experienced it, Jesus had risen on the third day, just as He said He would. Their minds were opened and this was when everything began to change.

It’s amazing how we can read the Bible and still not understand.  I mean sure, we may know it cognitively, it may be rolling around in our heads, yet still may not fully understand it.  However, then comes the day Jesus reveals Himself.  A little experiential revelation of the Risen Christ in our lives, and everything begins to change.  

Then Jesus says, and behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you.  But stay until you are clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49)

Jesus, open our minds that we would understand!  You came and suffered, You died, and on the third day You rose, so that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in Your name to the ends of the Earth.  Father, thank You for Your promise, the promise of the Holy Spirit.  Come Holy Spirit, come, and may we receive, greater is He who lives in us than he who lives in the world.  In Jesus Name, Amen. 

Heart to heart

From my heart to yours.

Know you loved.

Know you are cared about.

Know you are prayed for.

I have a few years of life experience and oh, I wish I could impart to others the knowledge of past failures and that they would understand.  I heard it said once, a wise man learns from his mistakes, but a wiser man learns form the mistakes of others.  As a mom, a friend, there’s nothing worse than that chilling fear that grips through your whole body, when someone you love walks away. 

As much as I love the story of the prodigal son and how comforting it is that God will always take us back no matter how far we stray, it’s hurts from the side of the one waiting.  The heaviness of the homecoming.  Yes, there’s the joy of the return, but there’s also the weight of sadness for the time missed. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to lose those years. 

Heavenly Father, You’ve created us for relationship, first with you and then with others.  Our relationships matter, enough that you tell to go and reconcile with each other before even going to your altar.  I’ve learned far too often, almost all the time, division happens through misunderstandings and wrong perceptions.  Please intervene and clarify these things before we lose valuable time with each other.  In Jesus Name, amen.  

Interrupted

I love the story of King David.  David, titled a man after God’s own heart by God himself.  David was anointed as a young shepherd boy to be the next king over Israel.  God had big plans for his life, but David would spend the next 15 years in the shepherd field. It was through his everyday living, the good, the trials, and learning to see God’s hand at work in his life, that God would shape him and grow him for his calling. 

Fast forward some years, and now David is placed as king.  He finds himself in adulterous sin.  Remember, he is a man after God’s own heart, yet he is still human, and we see clearly his sinful nature rising up.   So, what’s one to do?  Well… David chose to lie and murder to cover up his adultery.  Most likely, this was an emotional response out his feelings of desperation.  However, God would not let him live with the guilt and shame of his past.  And so, God sends Nathan,

“Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel.  I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul…”  (2 Samuel 12:7). 

God never comes at us with condemnation, but He will convict us. Why? He doesn’t want us to live hiding or running from our shame.  In His great love, He calls us to come to Him no matter where we are.  David’s actions weren’t original, rather the actions of original sin.  From the beginning, we see Adam and Eve hiding from God in the garden after their sin when God calls them out to come to Him. 

Right from the start, God would use Nathan to remind David of his identity; chosen, anointed, and big plans.  But David had to go through some stuff first, and here, Nathan reminds David of God’s faithfulness and protection from the abusive King Saul. 

Remember God’s faithfulness, know His conviction is for a greater work within us.  One of David’s greatest attributes, a repentant heart.  God never changes, He deals with us the same way.  In His great love, mercy, and compassion, He leads us to conviction and repentance, then redeems and strengthens us for the greater plans He has for us.  Don’t miss this step!

Impossible Odds

I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but God likes to show off when a situation looks impossible.  Take David and Goliath for example, a young shepherd boy against a giant Philistine. When Goliath repeatedly comes out taunting the Israelites, and David steps up to the challenge.  A young man with a sling and a stone, against a giant who trained from his youth with sword and javelin.  But David knows a little something about the God he serves.

 

And David said, “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine” (1 Samuel 37). 

Or the showdown of altars in the book of Kings.  Elijah challenges those who are following Baal.  The challenge was to prepare an altar with a bull on it without any flame.  Then call out to their god and the one who answers is God.  As they called out all morning with no avail, Elijah instigates, “call louder, maybe he’s away, or perhaps sleeping.”  When Elijah’s turn came to call on God, he saturated his altar, not once but twice with water.  Then he calls on God,

“Answer me, O LORD, answer me, that this people may know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you have turned their hearts back.” Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood, stones, and dust.  When the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The LORD, he is God; the LORD, he is God” (1 Kings 18:37-40). 

Or when the disciples watched Jesus’ death on the cross.  Even though He repeatedly told them about His death and resurrection, they were slow to catch on.  In that moment when Jesus cried out, it is finished on the cross, I’m sure they felt the weight of Jesus’ death.  But three days later, Jesus appeared as He said He would, defeating all impossible odds, even death. 

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).

Thank you Jesus for your VICTORY, thank you for turning our hearts back to you!

Love, Compassion, and Celebration

But he was angry and refused to go in.  His father came out and entreated him, but he answered his father, “Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.  But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!”  And he said to him, “Son you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.  It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found’ (Luke 15:28-32). 

We’re entering the middle of the story and we have an older brother whose angry.  Let’s catch up, the younger son tells his dad he wants his part of the inheritance.  Basically, he’s wishing his father was dead, so he could collect his money and live as he pleases.  The father gives him his inheritance and the son goes on his way.  He wastes all the money on wild living. After having nothing left, he comes to his senses remembering his father, and realized he is in need, so he decides to go back home.  To his surprise the father is watching and waiting for his return, welcomes him back, and announces a homecoming celebration. 

Now, the older brother comes on the scene and he’s angry.  He had stayed home all this time, and was the obedient son.  Everything the father had was always available to him.  But when the younger brother comes home after spending his inheritance recklessly, he couldn’t join in the celebration of his brother’s return. 

The father pleads with the older brother to join them, but he refuses and goes off angry, probably some resentment and jealously as well.  The bigger problem with the older brother, although he lived at home with father, he never fully received the love of the father, therefore he had no compassion when his younger brother returned. 

As a mom, this is heartbreaking, how do settle this when you’re on both sides? 

Father, may we remember, You see us through eyes of unconditional love, no matter where we are and what we have done. 

There’s a verse for that!

After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.  So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God” (John 6:66-68).

Have you had one of those moments when you just don’t know what to say, but a bible verse comes to mind. Yeah, me too, and usually it’s God’s prompting.  However, on the other side of that, we can’t just spit out bible verses to people and expect some miraculous result.  Look again at Simon’s response to Jesus, “to whom… WHOM shall we go?”  They had spent time with Jesus, they knew Him, and they knew He had the words of eternal life. They believed Him, and had come to know who He was.  It was relationship! 

Christianity is not just mere religion with a list of do’s and don’ts, it’s relationship of knowing God and knowing He knows us.  It’s revelation of Jesus, the incarnate God, who meets us right where we are.  Why?  Because you matter to Him. 

Father, You have given us Your words, so that we may believe Jesus is the Christ, and that by believing we may have life in His name.  Thank You Jesus, you haven’t lost an that are Yours, sanctify them in the truth! Amen.  

Before the Beginning of Time

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

God, eternally existing, created the heavens and the earth. The world didn’t just happen by chance, God created every detail with intention and purpose.  He created man and women to have fellowship with Him and with each other.  He created them to have dominion over all other living things, and He created them to be fruitful and multiply.  Beginning with Adam and Eve until the day Jesus returns, we were created with intention and purpose. 

Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.  In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:4-6).

Even when we were separated from God from sin, God having chosen us in him created a way for us to be restored back to relationship with Him.  He predestined from the beginning adoption for His sons and daughters through Jesus Christ. In love, you were chosen before the beginning of time to be adopted as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ.  You were chosen!!

Thank You Lord, Amen. 

The now, and the not yet!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17

In Christ, we become a new creation. The hard part is struggling with the in between stage, the now and the not yet. Basically, life on Earth will always have some struggle between the old self and the new self. However, we can and will begin to walk in the newness as we respond to work of the Holy Spirit. Remember anything God has for us is far better than we could ever imagine. Sometimes it’s our fear of the unknown that keeps us stuck in “old.” Or perhaps we think we’re fine just the way we are and don’t want to change. Whatever the reason, don’t cheat yourself of the abundant blessing God has in the new creation He is making you!!

Praise You Lord, you love us too much to keep the same. Holy Spirit would come and do Your work within us. May we let go of the fear of change and find joy in who You are making us! In Jesus Name Amen.

Stop believing the lies!

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.  In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.  For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:3-6).

Words from the Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth.  Ironically enough the god of this world is Satan and we know he is nothing more than a liar.  I heard it said, although he (Satan) may not be afraid of who we are today, he’s afraid of who we will become. That rings more and more true as I continue to walk in faith.  He targets those he thinks would be a force to be reckoned with for God, those who will lead others out of darkness and into the light, those who will share the gospel, and those who seek God’s will to be done.  The enemy plays no favorites, he goes after anyone he thinks could be a threat, and lately it seems he is especially after our children and our youth.  Honestly, that’s always been his game, going after us in our younger years.  He works out of the motto “get ‘em while there young.”  He’d plant lies from childhood, hoping we’d believe them and live a life in bondage from the lie.  He wants to keep us veiled from the truth of who we are in Christ.  If he can convince us we aren’t worth anything, we live out of the belief.  Satan puts out the mirage that the lusts of the world are so great, then leaves you in a pit of regret after you’ve taken the bite.  It’s time to take off the blinders and stop believing the lie.  God calls you to Himself, He calls you to salvation. It doesn’t matter where you’ve been or yesterday’s failures, He’s got that covered.  He paid for it at the cross.  He’s leading you to eternal life and freedom.  He’s calling you to walk in the truth of who He says you are in Christ- loved, accepted, forgiven, adopted, free of condemnation, to a hope and a future, mighty warriors for His Kingdom!!  Stop believing Satan’s lies and come home to Father!

Thank You Lord, You know the very best of us.  I pray You remove any blinders and command Satan to release his grip, so that we would be free to do Your will in our life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Enough for all!

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. - John 10:14-16

A shepherd loves his sheep. That means all of them! Jesus being the great Shepherd loved all those who were His, and the ones still to come. He loves them so much that He gave His life for them, all of them! The most amazing part is that He continues to love the newcomers without loving the ones already in His care any less. There enough love for all!

Father God, praise You for Your unconditional love for us. I pray we remember nothing can separate us from your love. There’s enough room in Your heart to love each of us, as well as those still to come. You bring us home as one, equally loved by You! Thank You Jesus!

It's bound to happen

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

From the beginning Christians faced persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ, including the apostles. They faced horrible deaths at the hands of the opposition, as did many early church leaders. Truth is, Jesus warned them that persecution was inevitable. Persecution would come because others hated Him (Jesus) and others would hate them as well on account of believing in Him. (John 15)

Jesus’s life was in danger from the beginning. King Herod had ordered that all male children (2 years and younger) were to be killed in Bethlehem, trying to stop the prophecy of the coming Messiah (Matthew 2). As Jesus continued His life and ministry and performing miraculous signs and wonders, His opposition grew stronger and stronger against Him. Ultimately leading the leaders to nail Him to the cross.

After His death and resurrection, the apostles continued His works and they too became targets. There were multiple accounts of worldly and religious leaders telling them not to talk about the name of Jesus (Acts 4).

The thought of persecution for our faith has been brewing inside of me for a couple months now. And recently I’ve been hearing more thoughts and messages about persecution from others. I have learned through the years of my life journey, when a message starts to come from multiple areas, God is intentionally getting a message across and preparing us for something to come.

Persecution is bound to happen and usually happens when we take a stand or a courageous step in our faith. We live in a world where the message of Jesus Christ is attacked, and others are trying to stop it from being preached. Although, we may not be facing death for our faith in Christ, we still face persecution. We will face rejection from others for our faith, and many times we will be verbally attacked. There will be people who will try to shut us up and tell us we shouldn’t or can’t talk about our faith in Jesus. There will be people who are against us and turn others against us because of our faith. Unfortunately, it may even people who are close to us, including our family and close friends. Jesus never said we would have peace in this world, but that we may have peace in Him. 

I pray He grant us that peace today!

What do I think?

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4)

What do I think?

I think we’re all trying to walk this life journey together.  Trying to discover our true self and where we belong.

I think we have two opposing spirits for our soul, God and the enemy, Light and darkness.  

I think we all have to sift through our stuff, the good, the bad, and the ugly.  We have to face our own demons, our own dark side and acknowledge the Light that breaks through.  

I think the enemy robs us with his lies and deception. The lies that we are unworthy or not enough.  He projects guilt and shame that keeps us in hiding.  He attacks at the core of our being and we live in a false self perception. 

I think living in false perception of our self keeps us from true community and relationship with others, most importantly God.

I think there is a greater He in this world, our God and Savior who speaks His Truth against those lies.   He claims us as His own, He says we are worthy and loved!

I think God gives people the gift of faith to see past the false wounded self of others.  He enables us to see the person He sees them as  and the good within them!  

I think if you knew my true thoughts, you’d be surprised.  I think your loved more than you know.  I think people care more than you think.  I think you should stop believing the lies of the enemy.  I think God speaks to you and you need to receive His eternal words of love, grace, and affirmation over your life.  I think your a pretty amazing person and pray you would see it too!

Meeting God...

Where do you meet God?  Maybe the better question is, where does God meet you?  

It can be normal to think we can only meet God is in a certain place. However, God is omnipresent, everywhere, and often God meets is in places we don’t expect.  

He met Moses on the mountain through a burning bush and instructed him to lead the people out of slavery.  

When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." Then he said, "Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground." - Exodus 3:4-5

Jesus revealed Himself to the Samaritan woman at the well, while she was living in a shameful state. 

The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things." - John 4:25

He interceded Saul on his way to persecute Christians, calling him His chosen instrument to carry His name before the Gentiles. 

And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?"  And he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he said, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. - Acts 9:4-5

God often shows up in the very places we’d lest expect!  Never underestimate where He might meet you, reveal Himself to you, and/or lead you as His chosen instrument for a specific purpose.  

Lord I thank you we don’t have to be in a certain place to meet you.  You meet us where we are at, you meet us when we least expect it.  I pray today Lord would meet with us, direct us, reveal yourself and your plans to us.  In Jesus Name, Amen.  

One Voice

¹ In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,² “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” ³ For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight’” (Matthew 3:1-3, ESV). 

John the Baptist arises on the scene early on in the book of Matthew.  Although, we see him in the New Testament, he is considered to be the last of the Old Testament prophets.  A prophet who would deliver God’s message to the people.  He would be the one voice crying out in the wilderness, prepare the way for the Lord!  The Gospel of Luke of fills in some more details for us regarding John the Baptist. 

³⁹ In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, ⁴⁰ and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. ⁴¹ And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, ⁴² and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! ⁴³ And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? ⁴⁴ For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. ⁴⁵ And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord” (Luke 1:39-45, ESV).

While Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she went to visit Elizabeth who was also pregnant with John.  This account tells us how John leaped in her womb at the visit of Mary and Elizabeth was filled with Holy Spirit. God prepared him before he was born to be the one voice crying out, prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.  In other words, he was born for this! 

Recently, I had a situation where someone was trying to limit my voice. Basically, this person, was telling me I didn’t have a say and not to teach the very things God had spoken to me to teach.  There was a time this would have crushed me, but I quickly began to see the enemy was at work once again. 

You have to realize, it took me a long time to realize God’s calling on my life.  My calling would use the very voice God has given me - to speak and teach.  Ironically enough, my voice has been the very thing the enemy has tried to attack and keep silent throughout my entire life.  The enemy had me believing the lies - no one listens, or your voice doesn’t matter.  I believed those lies for almost my whole life, until Jesus began to change that and free me from the lies!  He began to speak truth to me – your voice matters and you have a voice now use it.  A while ago I had heard a quote from Lisa Bevere, “When the enemy oppresses, it is always because he fears what we might become.”  God's plans for me was to use my voice, no wonder the enemy would try to come against me and hold back my voice.   

And so, in this recent encounter, I quickly realized the enemy was trying to resurface those old lies he had told me my whole life, but God’s timing is perfect.  I had just been away on women’s retreat and wouldn’t you know the theme of the weekend – breaking lies!  Even though the enemy was trying to cheat me of my God given destiny, it was His perfect time and God affirmed me once again, my voice matters, now use it!  Not only has God affirmed me, but my testimony and calling has been confirmed by other mature believers as well. 

God has given me a voice to use for His purposes, to do the works He has prepared in advance for me to do. In other words, I was born for this!

One voice matters! 

One voice can lead someone to Christ!

One voice can bring someone to repentance!

One voice can shine light into the darkness!

One voice can strengthen another!

One voice can free the multitudes from bondage! 

One voice can bring justice!

One voice can affirm the will of God!

One voice can speak Truth!

One voice! One voice can make a difference.  How is God calling you to use your voice for Him? 

Father God, we thank you that you did not remain silent.  We thank You that You continue to speak to us today, You speak through scripture and even more personally through Your Holy Spirit.  Father would you give us the courage to speak Your words boldly to others even when someone else tells us to keep silent.  Continue to use us as Your vessels to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ, to lead others to repentance, and to shine light in this world of darkness.  May you give us the words to speak for others when they cannot speak for themselves, a voice to strengthen and encourage others, a voice that brings freedom in times of bondage, and a voice that brings justice.  Father may we be hearing directly from You to affirm Your will in this time and season we are placed, and may we always speak in truth!  May we be a voice that prepares for Your will and work in our lives and those around us.  In Jesus Name, Amen. 

Be Still

"Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in this earth!" (Psalm 46:10).  

Be still!  Not so easy, is it?  We are so accustomed to distractions.  From our busy schedules, social media, friends, and our own thinking. Ever notice when you try to be still and your mind starts racing about things or suddenly you feel like you have to check your social media.  Well truth is it’s hard to hear God or feel His Presence with us with those distractions. 

BE STILL!  Find a quiet place and sit with God.  It’s well needed time alone.  Turn off the distractions, stop listening to your friends and your own thoughts.  Just be still my friend, and talk to God.  Ask Him what He wants you to do, where He wants you to go, and what He wants you to say.  Then just be still and listen.

Lord come and be with us that we would sense Your Presence by our side.  Come and speak to us that we would hear from You tonight.  Lead us in the path You have for us.  in Jesus Name, Amen.

Take Control

Cain became angry when God did not find his offering acceptable.  The Lord said to him,
“Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen?  If you do well, will you not be
accepted?  And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door.  Its desire is contrary
to you, but you must rule over it” (Genesis 4:6-7).  God will always give us an opportunity
to deal with the sin in our lives.  However, we must realize, sometimes there is only a small
window of opportunity before sin takes us to far, or a situation becomes irreversible.  Although,
we may not actually hear the voice of God, He still speaks to us today.  Sometimes, God
speaks through the words of another person, sometimes it’s the inner conviction of the Holy
Spirit.  You know, when you just have a sense or a feeling that cautions you about something
and/or the weight of sin.  DON’T IGNORE IT!  That very well may be God cautioning you to
walk away from something/someone, to deal with the surfacing anger, and/or to reach out for
help.  God will never tell your sin doesn’t matter, God will never tell you to hurt yourself or
someone else, and God will never tell you to hide in shame.  Friends hear me on this, if sin
is pulling at you, YOU MUST RULE OVER IT!  Don’t delay in what God is telling you to do,
reach out to a trusted person who can help!
